Ronald McDonald House Family Room

Having a child in the hospital can be a frightening and challenging time. The extra expenses of finding housing and food can layer on even more stress during an already stressful experience.

That’s why the Ronald McDonald House provides meals and accommodations for families of hospitalized children in Columbia.

Located on the first floor of Prisma Health Children’s Possible, our Family Room provides an oasis from the hustle and bustle of hospital corridors and crowded waiting rooms. We offer refreshments, internet access, and most importantly, the helping hand of caring volunteers. The Family Room room is open 8-12:30 Monday to Friday.

Treat Trolley

Through our Family Room initiative, we have been able to create a program called the Treat Trolley, located in Prisma Health Children’s Hospital. The Treat Trolley brings care and kindness right to the patient rooms, helping families feel supported and cared for throughout their hospital stay.

Every morning and at lunchtime, volunteers with Ronald McDonald House Charities go door to door offering coffee, tea, and breakfast items to families bedside with their children.
